State Government Enterprise IT Standards

Standards and the IT Procurement Process

A participating agency that intends to procure information technology (IT) devices or services shall ensure that the procurement meets operational standards set by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) pursuant to Iowa Administrative Code 11—Chapter 25.

Operational standards is a broad term for IT standards developed by DAS in collaboration with participating agencies. It includes enterprise IT standards and standard IT devices (hardware and software) and IT services.

Pursuant to Iowa Administrative Code 11—105.10 (8A), DAS shall review all IT procurements by participating agencies of $50,000 or more prior to purchase for compliance with IT operational standards and implement a post-audit review of IT procurements of up to $50,000.
