| Project Summary: |
Administrative Services project to improve the system within staffing-related services billing by re-engineering all processes for these services billed to DAS customers in a consistent, time-based system. The project will provide: cost analysis on a per unit basis consistently handled over many staffing-related services, utilization data at various aggregations for support purposes, support new service design, enable what-if scenario forecasting, and service and financial modeling with comparisons of actual/planning data. |
| P-002-FY08-DOC (Iowa Corrections Offender Network) |
| Project Summary: |
Department of Corrections project for expanding the ICON system, the offender management system for the agency. ICON is a key component of the Governor's and Chief's data sharing initiative for all criminal justice agencies across Iowa. Continued expansion of ICON will further decrease the recidivism rate in the state. |
| P-003-FY08-DE (High School Transcript Repository) |
| Project Summary: |
Education project for an electronic repository of the information on a high school transcript. The electronic transcript system would enable high school graduates to electronically send transcripts to post secondary institutions or employers and provide a central location for all high school transcripts. This repository and retrieval system would help meet state and federal reporting requirements. |

| Project Summary: |
Homeland Security project to support program costs associated with a disaster plan management software tool already being used in state government. The amount requested will be used for continuing technical support and enterprise wide implementation of the tool for emergency preparedness. |
| P-005-FY08-HSEMD (SharePoint External Connector License) |
| Project Summary: |
Homeland Security project to expand the current Microsoft SharePoint software to include an external connector license. A project collaboration (web portal) site can create a single secured location to share and manage project team information (calendars, tasks, documents, etc.), manage document reviews and ownership status, and allow project teams to participate in alerts, discussion boards, surveys and announcements. |
| P-006-FY08-DHS (Electronic Behavioral Health Information System) |
| Project Summary: |
Human Services project to provide commercial, off-the-shelf, user configurable applications software for an electronic Behavioral Health Information System (BHIS) for six DHS facilities—four Mental Health Institutes and two Resource Centers. One of the Mental Health Facilities (Cherokee) also supports a Civil Commitment Unit for Sexual Offenders (CCUSO). The software includes integrated administrative, billing, financial, clinical, behavioral and pharmacy components. |
| P-007-FY08-DHS (Iowa Automated Benefits Calculation) |
| Project Summary: |
Human Services project for modernizing the IABC system. 1) Create a relational database model from existing files, allowing external interfaces to be updated to use the new database and user interface. 2) Modify the current batch processing system to a real-time update system. 3) Replace the existing user interface with a web-based one. The new system will simplify maintenance and enhancement, provide information via SOA (web services) to applicable state agencies, and reduce the system's operating costs. |

| Project Summary: |
Human Services project for a state identifier (IID – Iowa ID) to simplify the collection and management processes of personal information for citizens. This project works in partnership with ITE to produce an appropriate result for all stage agencies. The IID will be integrated within the Iowa Authentication and Authorization system. Assigning IIDs to citizen accounts and applying these IIDs to data stored within state agencies will simplify and enhance information sharing process. |
| P-009-FY08-DIA (Child Welfare Data Coordination) |
| Project Summary: |
Inspections and Appeals project to establish a DIA/CAB IT environment for future service oriented architecture initiatives and other multi-agency efforts to enhance the coordination of data systems with connections to Iowa’s child welfare system. Provide electronic transmission of reports and other information, reducing ground-based mail services by the agency. Extend e-access to DIA/CAB case-level reports and other documents to DHS, Judicial Branch and others according to their capacities and business rules. |
| P-010-FY08-DNR (Remote Field Office Improvements) |
| Project Summary: |
Natural Resources project to improve DNR’s remote location connectivity and high speed Internet/Intranet access; and enhance the ability for field staff to provide services to the citizens, industry, and public who utilize Iowa’s natural resources. Improving the remote office connectivity will be achieved by partnering with ITE and ICN to implement the recommendations in the DNR Connectivity Study to improve data transmission and to enhance IT support at a number of DNR field locations. |
| P-011-FY08-IDR (Electronic Tax Administration & Collection, E-Services Expansion) |
| Project Summary: |
Revenue project to expand electronic filing of tax return information and payment for taxes with smaller volumes. These would include corporate income and partnership returns as well as various property tax programs such as utility assessment reporting and other projects affecting local governments. The agency will leverage the E Services expertise to deploy these applications. |
| P-012-FY08-TGB (Enterprise Encryption Effort) |
| Project Summary: |
TGB-sponsored project to implement enterprise information security standards requiring laptop computers and removable storage media be encrypted by December 31, 2007. Provides funding to purchase encryption software licenses for laptop computers and encryption servers. Also, includes consulting services for planning and implementation. This project speeds the implementation of encryption technology, with the primary outcome being a significant reduction in risk to critical state data. |
