Tips and Tricks

What do I need to include with my digital files?

If a customer has done the primary design, the project can simply be sent to DAS Print on disk (3 ½ inch), CD Rom, Zip disk or a thumb drive. Simply indicate if the platform is PC or MacIntosh, the software you have used (remember to include version) version and all files and fonts on your digital medium.

How do I include fonts with the print job I send?
InDesign
  1. Under the file menu, click on package.
  2. Fill out the field as you see fit, then click continue.
  3. Save a folder location so you can find it, and make sure the top three check boxes are checked (included fonts, copy linked graphics, and update linked graphics.
  4. Then click on “package”
  5. Send the entire folder with the job to be printed.
Quark Express
  1. Under the file menu, click on collect for output.
  2. Save a folder location so you can find it, and make sure the checkboxes are filled for: Layout, Linked Pictures, Embedded Pictures, and fonts.
  3. Click on save. Be sure to click on ok when the font warning pops up.
  4. Send the entire folder with the job to be printed.
Publisher
  1. Under the file menu, click on Pack and Go then Take to a commercial print service.
  2. Click on next, then browse and select a location that you can find later.
  3. Click on next, the make sure all three check boxes are checked (embed true type fonts, include linked graphics, and create links for embedded graphics).
  4. Click next and finish.
  5. Make sure to send the .exe file and the .puz to be printed
